Intro

Hi y’all! I’m a trans girl gamer wanting to share my experiences with this wonderful pastime with as many as are interested. For the foreseeable future I’ll be posting old reviews weekly every Saturday that I’ve already made from the past year and a half giving my thoughts on games I played for the first time. With every post I’ll give the game’s title, its release year, the system I played it on, the date I finished, its status of “Beaten” (reached credits/what I deem the story end to be) vs “Completed” (100%), and of course my full thoughts on the game. As a heads-up, the reviews can vary vastly in length and depth. It may depend on the complexity of the game itself, its wide knowledge and simplicity allowing for a comedic write-up instead, or how passionate I feel about its intricacies. This isn’t meant to be any semblance of professional, though I’d love for that to change. But with all that said, I sincerely hope that anyone who finds my blogs here enjoys it!

Game Clearing #2: RPG Time: The Legend of Wright

Release Year: 2022 System: Switch Date Finished: January 10th Status: Beaten An adorable adventure game based around a game by the same name created by one little kid for his friend for them to play together in a school classroom. It’s all made with school desks, cardboard, tools like a pencil and eraser, and the main game taking place inside a notebook with animated sketches. The aesthetic is definitely the main appeal, once the novelty of it largely wears off you’re left with a gameplay that, while fun, isn’t anything to wright home about. It’s an RPG only in the most basic senses. The main story is as traditional as you can get, you only level up after defeating a boss marking the end of a chapter, and the combat isn’t all that deep and fairly sporadic when it actually pops up. What you’ll more often get is minigame after minigame after neat mechanic that’s quickly abandoned. Game #7: There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension

Release Year: 2021 System: Switch Date Finished: January 26th Status: Completed A very wacky and meta point and click adventure non-game, you take a narrator with you on a journey through different dimensions, solving point-and-click type puzzles along the way with some comedic writing and scenarios. Presentation is simplistic for the most part but works well, there’s some funny surprises with the chapter premises, and a fairly heartfelt story by the end. For me at least the puzzles could kinda flip-flop in difficulty, sometimes it’s obvious and sometimes not so much. But thankfully in addition to the narrator himself occasionally giving a hint, there’s an actual thorough hint system that even includes the full solution to a specific problem if you still can’t understand what to do. Even if at times I was relying on that, it was much preferable to using an online guide so I really appreciated the option. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re interested.
